Dr. Anna Bourgeois

Dr. Anna Bourgeois is originally from Bayou Vista, Louisiana. She attended the University of Southwestern Louisiana in Lafayette for her undergraduate studies and graduated from Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1989. Prior to joining the Azalea Lakes Veterinary Clinic team in January, 2022, Dr. Anna has worked as a small animal veterinarian and teacher in the Baton Rouge area. Her veterinary interests include internal medicine and wound care.

Dr. Anna and her husband have four daughters and two granddaughters. She has a rescue Schnauzer mix named Sparkaletta and three cats, Minnie, Stanley, and Lorelei. In her downtime, she enjoys spending time with her family (especially her granddaughters), reading, learning, and outdoor activities like gardening, birdwatching, and stargazing.

Dr. Anna's favorite part of Azalea Lakes Veterinary Clinic is, "Forming relationships with clients and meeting their pets. It's always great to be able to communicate well with a client to ensure that their pet's needs are met. I also thoroughly enjoy the staff at Azalea Lakes Veterinary Clinic. They are competent, compassionate, kind, and fun. It's a great place."

I have a very difficult 20 pound cat that was usually a terror at the vet but the first time I brought her in to Dr. Susie she was very calm and just lay there while Dr. Susie checked her out. I have a rescued Persian cat and a teacup poodle that have seen each of the doctors at Azalea and they love all of the ladies. The office staff is awesome, also.
