Digital radiographs are one of the more important updates at Azalea Lakes Veterinary Clinic, and our veterinarians are excited to offer this advanced form of x-ray system for your pet. Digital radiography is an extremely helpful diagnostic tool used to determine disease or injuries in the chest, abdomen, and musculoskeletal system instead of performing invasive tests or procedures. Using this technology, the doctors at Azalea Lakes Veterinary Clinic can identify fractures, locate foreign bodies, discover masses such as tumors, measure organ size, and diagnose pneumonia as well as pregnancy. Our new system eliminates time spent developing film, meaning one of our caring doctors can examine an x-ray image of your pet in a matter of seconds and begin treatment as necessary.
Digital radiography, in comparison to conventional x-rays, is a filmless technology that allows for the instant acquisition, deletion, editing, and transfer of data to a computer which can promptly generate the image. The images may be zoomed, measured, enhanced and sent to other radiologists or specialists for remote viewing. This means if your pet has a serious injury or a complicated issue requiring additional consultation, our doctors can submit the images to a veterinary radiologist. The images can also be stored or linked to digital record systems for future retrieval and diagnosis.
Digital radiography gives us the capability to assess your pet’s condition quickly and efficiently with clear images that can be manipulated for detailed viewing and an accurate diagnosis. Azalea Lakes Veterinary Clinic provides diagnostic services to patients in East Baton Rouge, Ascension, and Livingston Parish.
