Azalea Lakes Veterinary Clinic offers stem cell therapy as an alternative drug-free therapy that uses your pet’s own adult stem cells to regenerate and repair damaged tissue. Stem cell therapy is approved to treat osteoarthritis, fractures, ligament/tendon damage, and many other compassionate care uses. This procedure can usually be performed in one or more day visits to our clinic.

How Does it Work?
Due to injury and/or age, sometimes our own repair abilities can use a jump-start. By using the pet’s own repair cells isolated from fat tissue in the body, this repair ability can be applied to areas of need.
Stem Cell Therapy requires a minor surgical procedure to harvest the fat where the dormant stem cells are stored. Once the fat is harvested it is processed to extract the adult stem cells within. The adult stem cells (repair cells) are then activated and injected back into the pet to damaged areas to attempt to fix the problem by creating a healing process from within, that drugs cannot replicate.
